After the accreditation process that started in September 2011 at LDM following approval by the certifying authority and IATF (the International Automotive Task Force), the long-awaited certificate has been issued on 23th of December 2011. The Head Quarters and production facilities which are both located in Drunen; The Netherlands, as well as our Sales Offices in Germany are all now certified.

LDM has recently brought a fully automatic metal analysis system into operation that is supplied turn-key by PANalytical in Almelo. The samples from the smelting furnaces are presented crude at an entry point before being positioned by a robot in a CNC saw/milling machine and the required analysis equipment. Besides production samples, the new system is also used for the analysis of raw materials and final inspection samples.

On 5 July, LDM sailed through the Readiness Review within the context of the ISO/TS 16949 certification process.

The tsunami that hit northeast Japan on 11 March 2011 caused massive damage. Besides the incalculable human suffering, it also inflicted severe economic losses.
