04-2011: LDM is not affected by the Japanese tsunami

The tsunami that hit northeast Japan on 11 March 2011 caused massive damage. Besides the incalculable human suffering, it also inflicted severe economic losses.

The scale of these losses could have a knock-on effect on Europe and European businesses. However, LDM has a sound Contingency Plan which ensures that our continuity does not depend on Japanese suppliers, Japanese components or Japanese products.

Furthermore, since 2007 LDM has been using a radiation detection portal to detect radioactive contamination. All of the materials we use are scanned for the presence of radiation with the aid of this equipment. This makes it impossible for materials contaminated with radioactivity to end up in our products, either now or in the future.
