This is why LDM made a substantial investment lately in upgrading its laboratory. Not only was a considerable part of its instruments replaced by modern equipment, but major changes were also made in the accommodations themselves. The department’s office space, for example, was completely replaced by new construction. ‘Innovations, product and quality research, process improvements and product inspections are activities that we approach very professionally and systematically,’ says Maarten Hoefs, one of the process technologists at LDM. ‘When shifting from bulk to special orders, having a modern, well-equipped laboratory is extremely important.’ And the result is truly admirable. More than € 90,000.00 was invested in the modernisation. |
