The Euro 2 million project has been fully realized within time and budget, and with minimal production delays.
The advantages of the new gas heated billet furnaces have been noticeable and measurable in the mean time. Because of nine temperature zones inside the furnaces, we are able to guarantee a strict temperature control. Thanks to an increase in the homogeneity of temperature per billet block, we have achieved a big improvement of our final quality.
The new billet furnaces are fully in line with LDM’s green sustainability targets: the energy consumption has been reduced strongly, which enables us to reach an annual reduction of carbon dioxide of 2.000 tons.
