Moulding Plant

The 24,5 MN press of the moulding plant mixes the cast billets to a smaller section at an increased temperature. As a result massive strands with various forms are produced.
The press blocks are brought to press temperature through induction ovens, so that the material is formed to a smaller section in a relatively easy way without any hardening occurring.

Depending on the alloy, form and end size the material is pressed in sleeves or in straight lengths. Pressing in sleeves offers an efficient drawing process. Large sizes and certain forms and profiles cannot be pressed in sleeves, so that these items are always pressed in straight lengths on the belt.

The die opening of the press restricts the form of the products to be pressed on a maximally described circle of Ø122 mm.
